The duties of a beekeeper are as numerous as the bees they keep. Most people know very little about what beekeepers actually do. There is a surprising variety of tasks. No beekeeper can do it all. Inevitably, every beekeeper becomes an expert at something different. Natural talents, interests, and areas of expertise can lead to very different aspects of tending to the bees we all share in common. Kauai Nectar has chosen to offer these services based on our expertise and our level of passion for them. If we do it, we will do it well, and with a smile. If we don’t do it, we can direct you to someone who does.

BEE REMOVAL
We do not offer bee removals. Ironically, this is one of our most requested services. The demand for bee removals on Kauai is exceptionally high. It directly reflects how healthy and natural the bees of Kauai are. Humane removals require unusual tools, problem-solving, and consideration. It is for this reason that some beekeepers specialize in removals, while others, like ourselves, shy away from them.

APIARY DESIGN AND INSTALLATION
If you are interested in establishing beehives of your own, we would love to support you. There is a lot to consider when establishing a bee yard or apiary. Strange details significantly affect the success of the hives and the effect those hives will have on the people, plants, and property around them. If you want to be an ally to the bees, we want you to succeed and we want to make it easy. We can facilitate any part of the process or every part, from the planning and land preparations to acquiring bees and equipment, installation of thriving hives, and even maintenance, and harvesting into the future if you need it.
